Hi beautiful people! I want to apologise for my lack of blogposts lately, I've been rather uninspired :(

This outfit is what I would call a subtle nod towards the approaching spring, with the use of patterns. 

The mix up of tartan/checked patterns draws your attention to the subject's mid section, where the patterns meet. 

As your eyes move downwards over her awesome shorts, you notice that she's coordinated her wool scarf with a pair of red converse. 

This outfit is a great example of mixing up winter layering with warm wool and cool denim, I for one will be trying to rock this look before the weather completely warms up!

Sometimes, simplicity is best. Toned down colour palettes give way to mixed textures and the occasional splash of colour, drawing you further into the outfit, ensuring that you get lost in the web of details spun together for the very purpose of keeping you interested and intrigued.

As the weather gets colder, hats are becoming more of a necessity. I love seeing a great hat and this wide brim trilby hat is no exception. The fact that the tartan pattern on the jacket is actually made up of tiny houndstooth patterns adds more detail to the outfit.

The grey scarf adds to the old school appeal of this outfit, making the subject look like a character out of the film noir genre.

This outfit is understated, but it stands out regardless of the muted colour palette. The pinstriped trousers and the Adidas Originals serve to make this look casual, cool and well put together outfit.

Hi people! Since my street style is running a little late I thought I'd show you what I wore yesterday.

I picked up a vintage dress from Fly To You (a great vintage shop in Daegu), I love it, it reminds me of Wednesday Addams from the Addams family. 

I paired this Little Black Dress (LBD) with another vintage find, a red jacket I got from STI CHIC (another store in Daegu) and my Topshop boots, and voila! You have yourself a red Sunday (I was going to name this post Red Wednesday, but I wore this outfit on Sunday and I was born on a Sunday so I thought I'd change it up!)

I love a good LBD simply because of the different ways you can style it! I usually use an LBD as a canvas or backdrop to highlight other things I'm wearing and make them stand out!

Hey people! I have another monochrome look for you! I promise the next one shall have some other colour involved haha. 

Last time I was in Seoul I ended up at a rooftop party in Myeongdong, it was pretty good but we turned up way too early! Plus I had to leave early as I had to catch the train back to Daegu. However in the short space of time I was there I managed to take a few street style snaps, talk to some amazing people and get these pictures taken by my lovely friend Jina.

I don't know why but all I seem to wear lately is black and/or white. Don't get me wrong I have a plethora of colours in my wardrobe (mostly in my wardrobe back in London) but I just can't seem to stop wearing these two colours on most days. Even as I write this I'm wearing a mandarin collared Thai silk shirt and Topshop Leigh jeans - all black - I just can't seem to help myself!

This is part 1 of a 4 part series of a more detailed look at some of the outfits I spotted in Seoul, I'll show you where they got their clothes from, and occasionally give you my version of these looks. 

Walking around the main streets of Hongdae were these two awesome looking high schoolers in very well put together outfits. 

I think it's rare to see younger teenagers putting together outfits with their own personal touches to it. I really do believe that the way you dress says a lot about you and your personality so it makes me happy to see teens who are dressed differently from people their age. It let's me know that they're developing their own personalities and thinking for themselves, I'm all for expressing one's individuality.

I love flea markets, it gives you a chance to meet new people and talk to designers about the products they've designed, you get to ask them about the thought process behind their lines (obviously harder for me to do over here but you get my gist lool).

As usual I spent the weekend roaming around Daegu, here are some of the good looking people I convinced to let me take pictures of them. Check it out!

Yoon, one half of Tokyo’s ultimate power fashion couple. Even if you don't know who she is you've undoubtedly seen her work.

If there’s one thing I love about her it’s that she is a jewellery maximalist, something I am not.

Born in South Korea and raised in the States she met her now husband in university, Verbal (of M-FLO and the Teriyaki Boys), and they both moved to Japan.

Rather than confining herself to just being a rapper’s wife she became his stylist, basically upgrading him from someone who copied stereotypical hip hop fashion to someone who sets trends and looks incredibly unique, with an offbeat cool. Later she became his partner in their successful design empire – Ambush designs – where they design everything from CD albums to high quality, unique jewellery that distinctly reflects the style and culture of Tokyo and it’s inhabitants.

What I love about Yoon is the fact that she is such a creative force and every piece of jewellery she designs is unique in its own way but at the same time you can see that each piece within a collection has a common motif that brings everything under one theme, one steady influence that lead to the collection in the first place.

The Ambush line started in 2008 started with the now classic fluorescent POW necklaces and rings as well as the metal eyeball barbell rings.

Their latest collection, aptly titled NU ORDER, is old school hip hop meets medieval knight. The jewellery is excessive and in your face bringing you back to the days where Flavor Flav used to rock that huge clock around his neck and when kids used to steal car hood ornaments, wearing them as trophies around their necks. It's that hint of Game of Thrones and The Seventh Seal that gives each piece in the collection that edgy, unique look.

Having moved to Korea last month I am understandably lacking in the accessories department at the moment, I brought one watch and one pair of earrings with me, my reasoning being that I would find tons of unique jewellery I liked.

Sadly that hasn’t happened yet, I’ve been to shops and browsed but nothing seems to catch my eye, it’s all too pretty, too girly, too similar and too bloody glittery.

I want something that reminds me of Ambush and looks tough and unique. Heck I don’t mind if it attracts attention, I get enough of that these days anyway, literally I get stared at when I go EVERYWHERE, I guess that’s part of being a foreigner in Korea.

With that being said, I think it’s time for me to well and truly step out of the box and embrace some more interesting pieces of jewellery, not just because they’re outlandish or because I’m desperate to stand out but because I think they are well and truly unique and also because I actually like them.

I've been in Korea for about 4 weeks now and I haven't taken many pictures since I've been here (blame that on me settling in and laziness, loool).

I took a few pictures whilst I was in Jeonju for my teaching orientation and when I've visited Daegu city. 

Out of all the pictures I've taken the last one is my favourite. This girl walked past me in an underground shopping mall and I was too shy to ask her if I could take her picture, bearing in mind I'd have to ask in Korean. It was nerve racking. She walked out of the shopping centre and I knew I'd missed my chance, 10 minutes later she walked back in and I knew I had to take the chance and ask or I'd be kicking myself for the rest of the night. 

I took the risk and she said yes! Major confidence booster :)
